Provision Phoeniqs AI Build
This guide covers ordering a Phoeniqs AI Build workspace: its own URL, its own persistent volume, and sign-in with the owner's PHOENIQS account.
If a workspace has already been provisioned for you and you only want to start using it, you do not need this page. Go to the Quick Start instead.
#
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:
- An active Phoeniqs Console account with permission to make purchases
- A company profile associated with your account
- A user in your company account for the developer who will use the workspace. The owner is picked from your company's users when you provision, so invite them first if needed. See Add Users to a Company.
Everything must be in the same resource group
Every subscription lives in a resource group, and the provisioning dropdowns only list products from the same resource group. A workspace in Project A cannot use a Base LLM API in Project B.
Choose your resource group before you start and stay in it.
One workspace per person
Each workspace has exactly one owner, and only that person can open it. To give several developers a workspace each, provision one per developer.
#
Step 1: Purchase and provision a Base LLM API
Phoeniqs AI Build runs its inference on the PHOENIQS AI Model Service, so you need an active, fully provisioned Base LLM API in the same resource group before you can provision a workspace. See Base LLM API for plans and pricing.
If you already have one provisioned in the resource group you want to use, skip
to
- Sign in at https://console.phoeniqs.com.
- Open Products from the left navigation, or click Add Subscription from the Dashboard.
- Select AI Model Service, then choose Base LLM API.
- Click Add to cart, then Proceed to Checkout.
- Complete checkout and confirm your order.
Then provision it:
- Navigate to Resource Groups in the left-hand menu and open the resource group that will hold your workspace.
- Expand the Subscriptions list and find your Base LLM API subscription with status Ordered.
- Click Provision Service on that row.
- Enter a subscription alias, a readable label you will see in later dropdowns, for example
MaaS-API-for-Platform-Team-AI-Build. - Click Provision.
Wait until the subscription shows as provisioned before moving on. An unfinished subscription does not appear in the next dropdown.
#
Step 2: Purchase the Phoeniqs AI Build subscription
- Open Products from the left navigation, or click Add Subscription from the Dashboard.
- Select PHOENIQS AI Platform, then choose Phoeniqs AI Build, plan Build Dedicated. See Plans and pricing.
- Click Add to cart, then Proceed to Checkout.
- Under Confirmation, select the Resource Group that holds your Base LLM API. The new subscription is created in that resource group.
- Accept the terms and conditions, then click Buy subscription.
The Order confirmed page lists the new subscription with status Ordered. Click Open resource groups to continue.
For the general checkout flow, see Buy a Subscription.
#
Step 3: Provision your workspace
- In Resource Groups, open the resource group holding your Base LLM API.
- Expand the Subscriptions list and find your Build Dedicated subscription with status Ordered.
- Click Provision Service on that row.
- In the Provision service dialog, fill in:
- MaaS API key (required): select the Base LLM API from Step 1.
- Owner e-mail (required): select the developer who will use the workspace. Only this person can open it.
- Custom hostname (optional): the name used in the workspace's web address. Leave it empty to have one generated.
- Click Provision.
You never paste an API key
Despite its name, the MaaS API key field asks you to pick a Base LLM API, not to enter a key. The platform creates a key on that subscription and attaches it to your workspace, so there is nothing to copy by hand.
Provisioning typically takes 5 to 10 minutes. You can leave the page after starting it; the subscription status updates on its own.
#
Step 4: Open your workspace
Once the subscription shows as provisioned, open it and click Launch product under Actions. The workspace opens at its own URL, and the owner signs in with their PHOENIQS account.
Keep that URL. It is the only address of the workspace, and all five tabs sit behind the same sign-in.
Continue with the Quick Start, which covers the company settings, your Git credentials and your first agent task.
#
What happens next
- The workspace draws inference from the credit pool of the Base LLM API you selected. All keys on that subscription share the same pool. See Base LLM API.
- The workspace starts with a 5 GiB persistent volume holding your repositories, agent sessions and settings. To expand it, contact support. See Workspace data and restarts.
- The owner is set when you provision. To give a workspace to a different developer, provision a new one for them.
- Company settings are not chosen at provisioning. The owner checks them out inside the workspace, under Settings → Company; see the Quick Start.

Removing a workspace
Removing a workspace deletes its data
Repositories and uncommitted work, agent sessions, editor settings, stored credentials and the browser's saved logins all live on the workspace volume and are destroyed with it. Push your work and use Export all in Settings → General → Workspace data before you remove it. See Workspace data and restarts.
To remove a workspace, open its subscription and click Deprovision under Actions. If Deletion protection is switched on, cancelling or deprovisioning asks for an extra confirmation. Switch it on for workspaces in active use.
Removing a workspace does not remove the API key it created on your Base LLM API. That key stays on the Base LLM API subscription and should be deleted separately if you no longer need it.
For the cancellation procedure, see How to cancel a subscription.
