# What is Kvant?

Kvant is a sovereign Swiss cloud platform designed for secure, scalable deployment of AI, blockchain, and enterprise IT workloads.

Built on a hybrid infrastructure of virtual machines and containers, Kvant supports both Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes, enabling teams to orchestrate applications using familiar tools and DevOps pipelines. Confidential computing is integrated at the hardware level, and middleware isolation provides additional runtime protection — making Kvant suitable for sensitive, regulated, and high-performance workloads.

In addition to traditional IaaS and PaaS capabilities, Kvant offers sovereign infrastructure services purpose-built for:

  • AI workloads including model training, inference, and orchestration
  • Blockchain environments requiring high-assurance compute and compliant storage
  • Multi-tenant architectures with strict data residency and governance requirements

# Core Services

Kvant delivers a comprehensive cloud stack for developers and enterprise teams:

  • Compute: CPU, GPU, and mainframe-class compute options
  • Storage: Encrypted block and object storage with Swiss data residency
  • Networking: Policy-based routing, firewalls, and secure ingress/egress control
  • Managed Services:
    • Databases (SQL, NoSQL)
    • Container registries
    • Code and secret management
    • Single Sign-On (SSO) and access control
  • Developer Tooling:
    • API-first provisioning
    • GitOps and CI/CD pipeline support
    • OpenShift CLI, Helm, and KubeCTL compatibility

# Architecture and Availability

Kvant is deployed across multiple Swiss regions for fault tolerance and compliance:

  • 3 availability zones in Zurich
  • 1 zone in Basel
  • Underground backup storage in the Swiss Alps for long-term durability

This distributed architecture provides geographic resilience and enables high availability without reliance on foreign jurisdictions — a level of redundancy not commonly offered by other sovereign providers.

# Integration and Compliance

Kvant is compliant with Swiss and EU data protection laws and supports:

  • Hybrid deployments and interoperability with major hyperscalers, including Microsoft Azure
  • Flexible tenancy models (dedicated, shared, and confidential)
  • No vendor lock-in — all workloads, keys, and data remain fully in your control
